As Tanisha Edge walked across the stage to receive her Athlete of the Year award at the Student Recognition Ceremony, little did she know there was another honor to be bestowed upon her unbelievable basketball season.
With the end of the regular season nearing, the Mountain Valley Conference has announced their conference awards for this past season. Six total twins were named to All-Conference teams and one earned the title of Conference Player of the Year.
The Twins basketball teams traveled to Herkimer County to take on the Herkimer College Generals in a Mountain Valley Conference matchup Saturday. This is the second and final matchup between these two teams in the regular season.
Two members of the Twins women’s basketball team are sharing Region III Athlete of the Week honors. Teammates Daniella Weinschreider and Tanisha Edge share the honors for this past week. The Twins had two games last week and came out with two victories thanks to these two athletes.
The Twins women’s basketball team had two home games over the weekend. Prior to Saturday’s home game the Twins held a ceremony celebrating Tanisha Edge for reaching 1,000 career points as a Twin. Columbia-Greene Community College presented her with a game ball that had the date of this accomplishment etched on it. The celebration included cupcakes that spelled out 1,000.
