D’Arcy Bittner is a sophomore on the Twin’s softball team.  She graduated from Saugerties High School and is currently an early childhood education major at Columbia-Greene Community College.  Bittner is the team’s top pitcher and plays infield when she isn’t pitching.  She has led the team in many categories this season and has led them to a spot in the NJCAA Region III Playoffs.  Bittner has started 15 games and has pitched 104.2 total innings this season for the Twins.  She has accumulated an amazing 3.14 earned run average through this season which ranks her at 17th in NJCAA Division III.  Her batting is just as incredible as she has a .548 batting average which is good enough for 5th in NJCAA Division III.  She has gotten a hit in her last 16 games.  One of her best pitching performances came this past week when they took on Fulton-Montgomery Community College.  Bittner pitched seven innings in the first game allowing only one run on an error and four hits.  She went on to pitch a shutout in the second game, allowing only four hits in five innings.  Her top batting performance also came last week against Jefferson Community College.  She went 4 – 4 at the plate with two RBI’s.  She also stole a career high four bases in the 22 – 0 win.  D’Arcy Bittner has been a huge reason for the Twins success this season.  She looks to continue her dominance Tuesday against Herkimer College in the first round of the 2017 NJCAA Region III Playoffs.
