Riley Werner is a freshman on the Twins women’s track & field team.  She is a graduate of Ichabod Crane High School and is currently studying human services at Columbia-Greene Community College.  Werner is a middle-distance runner for the Twins track & field team.  She has competed in both the 800 meters and the 1500 meters this season.  In her first attempt in the 800 meters at Wesleyan University, Werner ran a time of 2 minutes and 53 seconds.  This would stand as her best time in the event so far this season.  She was just three seconds shy of that time when the Twins competed at Fitchburg State University.  She ran a time of 6 minutes and 17 seconds in the 1500 meters earlier in the season.  Werner had a breakout meet this past weekend however, when the Twins traveled to SUNY Cortland to compete in the Cortland Classic.  She ran a time of 5 minutes and 51 seconds in the 1500-meter race.  This is more than 20 seconds faster than her previous best this season.  With just two meets left this season, Werner hopes to best those times.  Below are some fun facts about Riley Werner.
